Happy Friday! Who is excited for the weekend!? I know I am! Our whole family is having a lake day this Sunday for Mother’s Day, and I CANNOT wait!! Lake days are one of my favorite days every summer…especially when the whole family gets together! I am mostly looking forward to getting some much needed sun and cruising around the lake while celebrating my wonderful Momma for Mother’s Day! 🙂
Today, I gathered some recommended makeup products that I love for that perfect summer glow and my two favorite eye shadow brushes at the moment! Look below for details on each product!
Product Details:
Foundation: I have used L’oreal true match foundation for a while now, and I am really impressed with the formula of it. My skin type is mostly oily with occasional dry patches on my lower cheek area, and natural redness along my T zone. This foundation is full coverage and does a very good job covering my redness with a skin like finish. Also, I find that this foundation is lightweight which I love even more with the fact that my skin is naturally oily…no more cake face!! I definitely recommend L’oreal true match foundation if you are looking for a full coverage drugstore foundation!
Eye Shadow Palette: Ok…sadly, as I was searching for this Lorac eye shadow palette online at Ulta, it is no longer available:( I know…GRRR! However, I did find another Lorac palette that is very similar to this one, and could possibly work better than the one I have mentioned (If y’all try it, let me know if it is better, because I just might need to get it hehe:) I will say, this is the first palette that I have ever purchased from Lorac, and I do love this brand of eye shadows! They are extremely pigmented and blend very smoothly along with each of their palettes having a great variety of colors and shimmers/matte shadows.
Bronzer: Like I have mentioned before, I am very pale (hints the much needed sun comment;) and I have had a difficult time finding bronzers that have a natural finish however, gave me just enough bronze without looking orange or scarily dark haha! I purchased the Tarte amazonian clay bronzer and absolutely love the natural bronzey glow that it gives me! What I love most about this bronzer is that it applies very smooth and does not take a lot of product to get that desired bronze look! I 100% recommend this product for everyone, but especially if you are on the lighter side like me!
Blush: This Laura Geller blush is the perfect shade for summer time! At first I was nervous that the bronze swirls would look way to dark for me, but luckily I was wrong… it looks amazing on the skin. Blush has never been something I worried about applying because of how much natural redness I already have, however since I picked up this blush, I seriously cannot stop applying it! I personally love the broney pink tone that it gives the cheeks with a tiny bit of shimmer to really make the cheek bones POP! Hands down my favorite blush I have used so far!

Highlighter: Yes! Another Laura Geller product! This time I tried her baked gelato swirl illuminating highlighter and a funny little background story is when I first saw that these highlighters were called “gelato” I was already obsessed haha! BUT, it’s a good thing I ended up LOVING them because I would be very disappointed if a name like that did not look as amazing as the dessert is! Anyway, I really love the finish this highlighter gives…not over the top and not unnoticeable. This product gives the perfect amount of glow for a flawless summer look! *Remember, if you would like to receive free shipping on orders over $50, click the link above to start shopping!*
Mascara: This is the Too Faced better than sex mascara that I recently decided to try out (which is why mine is only a sample) and I will definitely repurchase the full size! This mascara is perfect if you are looking for a non clump, natural fluffy look to your lashes!
Lip gloss: Oh my goodness. Buxom lip glosses are amazing! If I am being honest, I was originally looking for a tinted lip gloss that would give my lips a semi-glossy finish to any lipstick. I did not read anything about this product prior to purchasing it and decided to go on a limb and buy it. My first application felt like a tingle/plumping sensation all over my lips (which I love) and my lips became a little fuller yet, that perfect semi-glossy look I was aiming for! I believe there are around 100 shades of this gloss which is awesome not to mention the sweet vanilla flavor it has!
Eye Brushes: I had never heard of Morphe cosmetics before, until I watched Jaclyn Hill’s review of them and decided to order a few. My favorite things about these brushes are the amazing quality they are for extremely affordable prices! Thanks to Jaclyn, I became obsessed with these two eye brushes and now almost my entire brush collection consists of Morphe brushes!
One last thing! I want to take a moment to thank all of the mothers out there for everything that y’all do, and wish each and everyone of you a happy Mother’s Day! See Y’all Monday!!:)
Lots of Love, Kaitlyn
