Happy Monday ladies! I hope y’all had a great weekend. It was very rainy here all weekend and we had multiple storms keeping us lazy inside. My mom and I did make it out yesterday to get some shopping done for our trip to NYC next month and I found a couple of adorable pieces that I cannot wait to share with y’all!

Moving on to today’s post! I have been doing a slow closet clean out to replace a lot of my old clothes that I do not wear anymore with new spring pieces, and I realized that I am lacking closet essentials. I decided to put together a collage of a few versatile closet essentials that will match lots of outfits and are ones that you will def wear on repeat. A few of these pieces I have already ordered, and I cannot wait to add them to my collection. Below, I have listed each one and different reasons why they are a great closet essential.

CLOSET ESSENTIAL DETAILS:

ONE~ Ok, so if you have followed me for a while now, you know that I am literally OBSESSED with T-shirt dresses. I cannot explain to you the comfort and effortless, yet stylish vibe that comes from these. **A little back story on T-shirt dresses** Before I got on the T-shirt dress ban wagon, I always thought that my hourglass figure would only look flattering when wearing A-line dresses. For this reason, I would always look at different styles and love them but never have the confidence to try them because of my mindset that only one style of dress would flatter my shape. Anyone else know the feeling? When T-shirt dresses became more popular in stores and were literally on every rack, I decided that I was just going to try one and see if I could make it work because I loved the feel and look of them on everyone else. So going into the dressing room with the expectation of these dress styles looking terrible on me, I was SUPER shocked when I put one on and LOVED everything about it. This experience really helps me when shopping now, because I realized that I was limiting myself and not taking risks when it came to my fashion. If you were or are like I was, I encourage you to try anything on that you like on the hanger. You really never know until you try it! But seriously I just purchased a dress identical to this one and am so excited to wear it all spring and summer long!

~TWO~ This crossbody bag caught my eye about a month ago, and I have been going back to it ever since. Because we will be walking everywhere in NYC, I decided that I needed a crossbody to wear all day that is cute and functional. I just ordered this one and was so impressed with the price. You can’t beat $70 for a high quality bag! It also comes in a few other colors, and is definitely a closet staple to match any outfit in your wardrobe.

~THREE~ These are another closet staple piece that I am going to order very soon. I have yet to buy a pair of espadrilles, and am still wondering why LOL! These actually just went on sale which is a plus, and will look cute with dresses, jeans, shorts, rompers, jumpsuits…Everything basically!

~FOUR~ How cute are these shorts!? Of anything that you can buy for a closet essential, these are a top must have. I cannot get enough shorts for this time of year. They are so comfy, cute, and an all around staple for the spring and summer months.

~FIVE~ I am on a jumpsuit hunt recently. I have been searching for the right jumpsuit to take to NYC for a nice dinner, and I am leaning towards this one. Jumpsuits are similar to T-shirt dresses in that they are SO comfortable and an effortless throw on and go type look. Pair this particular jumpsuit with the espadrilles and you are ready to go. So cute right!? Oh, and they are very versatile for a casual shopping trip or a date night!

~SIX~ This is the one closet essential I am lacking y’all. I know, it’s sad. I get so wrapped up in buying dressier clothes for nights out or trips that I never buy the basics. I am stocking up on the basics for this spring and summer because I ALWAYS complain that I don’t have a cute T to throw on. I told my sister I just need to buy a T in EVERY color. She agreed!

~SEVEN~ I included this suitcase because we all need a suitcase sometimes right!? Well, I just bought my first real hard luggage suitcase after only using a duffle bag for years. I specifically bought this luggage for my trip to NYC, but I have a few other trips planned as well as lots of trips in the future so I decided that I needed an actual piece of luggage. Haha! This Calpak luggage is almost identical to the one that I purchased, and is the same brand. I think this particular one that I linked is the newer design, but I purchased the same shade and everything. Its so dang cute!

~EIGHT~ AHH! Head scarfs are my favorite and Jessa Kae Boutique has some ADORABLE ones that you (and I lol) need asap. This photo was actually from their website and is one of many that I cannot get enough of. I also have an exclusive coupon code for you to use on their website at check out to get 10% off your order! Just use “Simplystylish10”!

~NINE~ Last but def not least is this bracelet. I LOVE dainty bracelets and metal cuffs like these and you can never go wrong with adding another one to your collection. These are such a staple for any outfit (casual or dressy) and can make your outfit that much cuter!

I hope y’all have a great week and let me know in the comments your fave closet essential from this post!

Lots of Love, Kaitlyn
