Summer is coming to an end, and I am wrapping up the last summery post of this year! So, for vacay this year, my brother, sister in law, Konnor, and I took a beach trip to Gulf Shores Alabama. This was our first time visiting Gulf Shores and we had SO much fun! Not going to lie, I gained a few pounds with all of the food we ate but it’s vacay so who cares right!? Most of the trip we literally laid on the beach, and floated in the water. This summer has been so busy for all of us that I really think we just needed a break to chill out! I am listing below the places that we ate, as well as the best dessert shops that we found!
I also wanted to mention that this was by far my favorite swimsuit this year. I actually purchased this suit online, and it fit perfectly. How does that happen? I honestly bought it randomly but really thought “there is no way that I can find a swimsuit online that fits,” but shockingly it fit! I think that the off-the-shoulder look is really flattering, and I believe that is what made this suit my favorite. I felt confident in it which is a first in a long time. I am also thrilled to tell y’all that it is on sale!! For like $22! I know that summer is ending, but you can always purchase for next year! Totally worth it.
WHERE TO EAT IN GULF SHORES
1. The Hangout: This restaurant is ALL about the atmosphere. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with a live band and games on the patio to play while you wait. I was impressed with how family oriented it was and we all got a kick out of kids dancing to the music! It was a really cute place. Oh! And the food was good too!
2. Sunliner Diner: Ok, I said the Hangout was cute, but YALL the Sunliner Diner was my favorite. This diner has a 50’s vibe and takes you back to the old days. The waiters and waitresses are dressed in skirts and dresses, and the menu was an old-timey newspaper. It got better because they had iced coffee which is my obsession, and even the classic diner milkshakes! The food was also soo good which of course is the most important!
3. Original Oyster House: We ate dinner here on our last night, and I experienced oyster Rockefeller for the first time. I love raw oysters, and am now a lover of oyster Rockefeller!! If you have never heard of oyster Rockefeller, it is like a warm, cheesy spinach dip that is coated on top of cooked oysters….yea! You need to try it!! This restaurant also had the cutest gift shop attached to it, and that is where I got my shirt and cheetah scrunchie that I was wearing in my “Sunliner Diner” pic below!
4. Cook Out at your Condo! My brother wanted to make steaks one night, so we found a local grocery store and picked our steaks out. We had so much fun cooking and creating a super delicious steak recipe that I have been craving ever since. Konnor keeps bagging to make it again! Going out to eat and trying new places is fun, but it was nice to enjoy a home cooked meal!
MILKSHAKE BAR TO TRY
THE YARD: OMG this place was amazing! The yard is a gourmet milkshake bar that takes milkshakes to a whole new level. I can’t even explain how crazy these milkshakes were so I will let you see for yourself. Here is the website to pure milkshake heaven! See the pics below to see our shakes. This is definitely a must-go place!
SUNLINER DINER: Look at that coffee!!
Konnor and I shared this shake! It was the “Cookie Dough Delicious” Yes, that is a scoop of edible cookie dough on top!
My brother got the “Fruity Pebbles” shake, and it honestly tasted like eating a bowl of fruity pebbles with milk!
My Sister-in-Law Kacey, went for it with a s’mores shake. Hers came with a chocolate covered s’mores on top. SO yum!!
Thanks for reading today!
