Cozy Fall Simmer Pot

by | Oct 19, 2023 | Home, Lifestyle

One of my all time favorite things to do each and every season is make simmer pots! I especially love fall and winter simmer pots as these are my two favorite seasons, and they always create a sense of coziness to crisp, cool days! Simmer pots are a very simple, inexpensive, and toxic free way to get your entire house smelling great. I like to leave the pot simmering for about 30 mins at a time, and then push it to the side to simmer again later in the day or even the next day. Storing your simmer pot in the fridge until you are ready to use it again is another great option for keeping the ingredients fresh longer. See below for the ingredients I used to create this cozy simmer pot, along with other recipe ideas!

P.S These also make great Christmas or even house warming gifts. Simply dry the fruit (or buy dried fruit) and add all of the ingredients to a little gift bag!

Cozy Citrus & Spice Simmer Pot

* Oranges (Sliced)

* Apples (I used Honey Crisp)

* Cinnamon Sticks

* Star Anise (You can find in your local grocery store)

* Vanilla Extract (1 tbsp)

* Ground Cinnamon (2 tsp)

* Ground Cloves (2 tsp)

Directions: Fill a large pot with water ( a crock pot will work also) toss sliced fruit and other ingredients in the pot. Bring pot to a simmer and simmer for 30 mins to an hour. Refrigerate overnight for longer lasting ingredients!
